MANTRA MEDITATION CLASS    Ajayan Borys    Back to top
Saturday, February 10, 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday February 11, 2 pm to 3.30 pm

We have heard his story of 4 months of meditating in a cave in “Whispers from the Himalayas” and, later, seen his videos of the area and the residents around those caves bordering the headwaters of the sacred Ganges River.  Here, now is the opportunity to experience an approach to mantra meditation as taught by Ajayan Borys.

He says, “One of the most ancient forms of meditation utilizes a personal mantra. Mantras consist of specific Sanskrit words and syllables, the proper use of which creates a harmonious effect on body and mind. With the proper use of mantra, one feels more oneself one enjoys greater mental clarity, creativity, positive emotions, health, and overall well-being. A personal mantra can be used not only in meditation, but throughout the day to increase energy, refine feeling, and maintain centeredness and calm.”

Ajayan has been exploring and teaching a variety of meditation practices since 1970. He has traveled the globe to continue an impassioned exploration of its various forms, meeting and learning from holy men and women in a lengthy journey along the way. He has made the study of meditation his life, having instructed and guided thousands in its practice in North America, Europe and India.

THE ROLE OF COMMUNITY IN SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT   Minor Lile    Back to top
Sunday, February 25

As individuals, we live our lives immersed in community~ our communities condition us, they comfort us and they act as a filter on how we see the world. The great spiritual traditions have long recognized the central support provided by community as one makes the spiritual journey.

Paradoxically, communities provide strength for the spiritual journey while, at the same time, providing the communal interactions, which may pose the greatest challenges and choices along the way.   Minor is a Resident Manager of Indralaya & NW District Director for the TSA.
