Therapeutic Touch was developed in the early 1970's by Dolores
Krieger, PhD, RN, Professor of Nursing, Emerita, New York
University, and Dora Kunz.
It is based on the belief that a
human being is a complex system of energies; disease may occur
when there is congestion, depletion, and/or imbalance of energy.
A Therapeutic Touch treatment is
administered with the intent to help a person re-pattern energy
to facilitate healing.
Therapeutic Touch
was founded within nursing science in 1972. Research continues
in major medical centers and universities.
No guarantee of
results can be made. Therapeutic Touch may be used as an adjunct
to other health care practices.
