March 4 Crazy Wisdom
Richard Schwab

Unlearning our Egos and Finding our Selves through the Trickster. It would be a fun one as I could tie together east and west, grail myth and Zen and update it to recent manifestations of these lessons (Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

Rich Schwab is the current head of the Seattle Mythological/Joseph Campbell RoundTable. He also runs MonoMyth.org, a website devoted to displaying mythological themes and ideas through the interpretation of movies, cinema as our current mythologies. Apart from that, he spends much time with youth mentoring them in the process of individuation while embarking on intense wilderness experiences and initiation rituals. He also acts as the "Hermes" of the Joseph Campbell Foundation,
ensuring the 50+ RoundTables in the world form a global community freely exchanging ideas and actively communicating.

The Seattle Joseph Campbell RoundTable is a special interest group which deals with studying the works and legacies of Joseph Campbell. Members are encouraged to present at the monthly meetings with a discussion topic of their choice. Also each meeting has a focus on applying one's own "Personal Legend" as far as listening to one's self and any progress members have made on following their "Hero Thread" through the labyrinth of life. Also, the group offers study/creativity groups for collaborations/joint projects ranging from articles, novels, screenplays, artistic endeavors, business projects or anything else one might give out a call to adventure for.

March 18  Come to the Garden in Winter
Jim Ayala

Come share a mid-winter’s evening with Jim Ayala and friends in the inspiring poetic fields of Persia’s greatest poets: Jellaudin Rumi (1207-1273) and Khwaja Mohammed Hafiz (c.a., 1320 – 1389) and many others.

Come bask in the powerful mystery, the gentle longing and the subtle call to remembering so unique to Persia’s mystical poetry.  Jim will also be joined by story tellers, gentle percussive accompaniment and a whirling dervish turning in prayer to the mystical poetry of Persia.

Jim Ayala  is a Seattle poet-artist who has delighted in Persian mystical poetry for many years.  Jim is a member of Seattle’s PoetsWest and has been the featured poet at several venues in the greater Seattle area.  Jim has been published in Belonging to Life, by Mary OMalley; Awaken Press, 2002.

March 25  Gnosticism, the Kabbala and Theosophy: Essential Similarities
Sue Prescott

The teachings of Gnosticism, presented through myth and allegory, speak to an inner knowing or “gnosis” of the divine nature within ourselves and everything in our world.  The Kabalistic Tree of Life depicts the attributes of the Divine, the universe, and the make-up of a human being.  Both are considered part of the “Ancient Wisdom,” upon which Theosophy is based.  Join Sue Prescott as she explores the common elements of these powerful wisdom traditions so you can better access the gnosis of your own inner Self.

Sue Prescott, MSW, is author of Realizing the Self Within, in which she explains how to open to one’s inner wisdom for self-improvement and relationship enhancement.  She is a life long theosophist and frequent lecturer at the Theosophical Society.
