From Near-Death to Life as a Teacher
Maureen Green
Maureen Green is one of the few near-death experiencers who has pre-birth
memories of being encouraged by spiritual beings to live an earth life that
would lead to abuse. She was told she would then become one of the few adults
who could work meaningfully with teens who had gone through the same trauma.
Three years ago Maureen received her Masters degree in Mathematics. Today she
teaches abused kids at a lockdown facility in Auburn. Because of the multiple
near-death experiences she had when she was younger, which Maureen will share,
she can now "see" the potential within the disturbed personalities of these kids
and draw that out. Please come and listen to this remarkable woman.

Facing the Future: 2012, Peak Oil, and Beyond
David Spangler
Many images of the future are being publicized now, some very grim. How are
we to think of these things? How are we to respond? As spiritual seekers and
subtle activists, how do we face the future? For that matter, how do we face the
present? When confronted with scary or apocalyptic images, we may have a
tendency to freeze, like a deer caught in oncoming headlights, or retreat into
denial. Either way, we may diminish our creative energies and our engagement
with the present. What inner tools do we have to prevent this?
David Spangler is an internationally known spiritual teacher, a former director
of the Findhorn Foundation community, and director of education for the Lorian
Association. He is the author of many books on spirituality and teaches a number
of classes online over the Internet at www.Lorian.org.

Theosophy 102
Ed Alden
Modern Theosophy offers a worldview that is all-encompassing and, therefore,
complex. But the “core” ideas are few and easy to understand. They provide an
understanding of our existence that is radically optimistic and affirms our
place in the great drama of Creation. This series of three lectures will review
and explore those core ideas, each lecture discussing several of the core ideas.
This second session will focus on the processes of our lives as human beings.
Ed Alden is a long time Theosophist and is a member of the Seattle Lodge.

Meditation: Science of the Soul
Mark Ray
Theosophy recognizes three essential paths to self awareness: service, study
and meditation. In this discussion we will explore why meditation is so
important, how to meditate and experience several different types of meditation.
The yoga sutras of Patanjali define meditation as sustained concentration. We
know meditation reduces stress and promotes health, but the spiritual side is
less well known. Today we will discuss and experience the hidden side of
meditation.
Mark Ray is a long time member of the Theosophical Society in Seattle.
