THE VOICE OF GOD
Steve Dahmus

"And God said…"How is it that an astrologically non-believing astronomer can name an asteroid (e.g. Hopi, House, Photographia, Atlantis, Eros, Child, Hekate), and then that that chunk of rock can have archetypal, psychological and spiritual import in your birth chart, tied simply to whatever its name is? Join Steve in a look at the weaver and the weave of astrology and mythology. Steve is a local astrologer who synthesizes psychological astrology, mythology and spiritual wisdom collected from various traditions.

A Teaching by the Ven Losang Dorjee, Abbot of the Gyuto Monks

This afternoon we will have the rare opportunity to receive a Teaching from Losang Dorjee, spiritual master and Abbot (Khenpo) of the Vajrayana college of Gyuto In Tibetan culture, a Teaching from a holy lama is considered a truly valuable spiritual experience and we are honored to be hosts for this event.

Founded in Lhasa in 1474, Gyuto Tantric University was considered one of the two "best of the best" monastic universities in Tibet by the time of the Chinese invasion in 1959. Of the 900 resident monks at that time, only 90 were able to follow H.H., the XIVth Dalai Lama into exile. Since then, Gyuto in exile has grown to 370 monks needing to be fed and house. It is partly to accomplish this goal that the Abbot and 12 of the Monks traveling with him are making themselves publicly available to us in a brief Seattle visit.

This is the only public opportunity during the visit to experience a Teaching from Ven Losang Dorjee. The monks will present a ritual performance of their unique chant in a concert at St Marks on Tuesday, April 16th. A sand mandala may also be created during these three special days.

Because of limited space, advanced registration is required (Please call 206 323-4281 to register) Fee is $20.00.
